I must tell you that whenever you cp, mv, chmod, etc or MOST importantly rm, you should use the verbose &quot;v&quot; option - the os tells you what it just did.  Here&#039;s why:  Ever copy or move a file and can&#039;t find where it went? Or, &quot;why is this file delete/remove taking forever&quot;?. If you DON&#039;T use the verbose option, you&#039;re flying in the blind.  I am forever amazed by system administration crews that are irresponsible (or lazy?) and don&#039;t use the &quot;v&quot;.
